CEO Luncheon with Sal Lupoli from Sal's Pizza
12:00 PM-1:00PM

Sal Lupoli is a classic “self-made man,” who, as a third-grader, actually wrote a paper saying he wanted to own a restaurant when he grew up! Today, at the tender age of 44, he has built “twin empires” in both the restaurant and real estate industries, under the umbrella of The Lupoli Companies.
After receiving his degree in Business Management from Northeastern University, (while  learning to make pizza while working in Boston’s North End between classes), Sal and his brother Nicholas created Sal’s Pizza, opening their first store in Salem, New Hampshire in 1990 and making the brand famous by selling a high quality three-pound, 19-inch pizza.
Today, joined by his other brothers, Mike, his late brother James and other members of the family, Sal oversees a company that is the largest manufacturer of fresh pizza in New England. There are 40 Sal’s Pizza restaurants in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, California, Arizona and Florida, as well as Salvatore’s Restaurants in Boston, Medford and Lawrence. There are also three Mary’s Pasta & Sandwiches restaurants in Amesbury, Chelmsford, North Andover and Salem, New Hampshire.
The Sal’s Pizza brand goes far beyond its retail locations.  The company’s own commissary prepares thousands of pizzas and calzones daily for wholesale distribution to grocery stores, colleges and schools.
Sal and his family have also extended into the real estate industry. Sal now owns Riverwalk Properties, 1.2 million square feet of business property along route 495 and the Merrimack Valley in Lawrence. Riverwalk Properties is home to 200 companies that employs more than 2,000 people. In early 2010 Riverwalk Phase II began, it will add an additional 1.5 million square feet.
Sal also very much believes in giving back to the community and is a donor to many organizations and causes including the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, South Boston Boys and Girls Club and many more. Sal is also the recipient of many awards including Boston Business Journal Under 40 Award, the 2008 Inaugural Enterprise Bank Entrepreneur of the Year,  and the 2009 SBA Entrepreneur of the Year.
