3 PM - 5 PM  | Free Skating at Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell 
Bring your own skates and skate for free! Location: UMass Lowell Tsongas Center, 300 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way



6 PM - 8 PM  |  Lowla-palooza Kids' Party
Moms, dads and kids are welcome to warm up with face painting, balloon animals, a special Lowla Bear temporary tattoo station, and a LIVE magic & juggling show by "Lucky Bob"! Location: Masonic Center, 79 Dutton Street


6 PM - 9 PM  |  Hot Roasted Marshmallows

6 PM - 8 PM  |  DIY Snowman Building
Have fun building your own snowman, either alone or with others! Snow piles will be located at City Hall Plaza, 375 Merrimack Street.

21+ only, admission $5.
Enjoy a rich selection of food and beverages.  Admission to Club Celsius does NOT include admission to the Microbrew Competition (see 7PM listing below). The Microbrew Competition is a separate, ticketed event. Location: Club Celsius Tent on Arcand Drive

 

6 PM  |  2013 Lowell WinterFest Opening Ceremonies
Kick off the 14th Annual Lowell WinterFest at the Human Dogsled Track! The Human Dogsled Competition will immediately follow so stay and cheer on your favorite team!  This year featuring the always amazing UMass Lowell Party Band! Location: Human Dogsled Track, Arcand Drive

9 AM  |  Wildlife Tracking at Hawk Valley Farm
Venture out with Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust for a winter exploration of historic Hawk Valley Farm!  Learn the signs of wildlife, including deer, fisher, fox, skunk, opossum, and more! There is plenty to explore as a winter naturalist! In partnership with Mass Audubon’s Drumlin Farm.  FREE but RSVP required, space is limited. 978-934-0030 or gwen@lowelllandtrust.org.     

 

11 AM - 4 PM  |  All-You-Can-Eat Chocolate Festival at St. Anne's Church
Indulge your sweet tooth at this day-long affair! Locaton: St. Anne's Church, 8 Kirk Street. 

 

11 AM - 3 PM  |  2nd Annual Meeting-of-the-Minds Trivia Contest at Pollard Library
Sponsored by the Teen Friends of the Library. This is a trivia challenge for teams of three to four people. Entry fee: $10 per team (waived if team members are current members of the Friends of the Pollard Library). Recommended minimum participant age is 10 years old. Deadline to register is Monday, February, 17. Spaces are limited! Register here or at the Library’s Friend’s page or via email at friends@pollardml.org. 12 Noon - 1 PM | Meet the Huskies!
Visit with Juno and Jadis. Jadis has a very compelling  story as a sled dog: she finished her Sled Dog Excellent title in 2011 as a lead dog and ran several races as far as 60 miles! Jadis was working on her Sled Dog Outstanding title, but unfortunately went blind in 2012 due to a viral infection. In 2013 she was adopted and she’s now enjoying the “city life” and becoming a “couch potato”. She loves kids and getting belly rubs!

 

12 Noon - 2 PM  |  Mascot Madness
Pose with all your favorite Lowell Mascots and enter their raffle to win a Birthday Party at the Spinners!  Location: Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, 131 Merrimack Street

Join Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust and explore maple sugaring in a historic park! Learn how to identify a sugar maple tree, how to tap it for its sap, and how to turn the sap into syrup.  Enjoy taste testing – can you tell the real stuff from the fake?  This is a fun hands-on activity for the whole family.  Meet at the granite pillars on Park Avenue, middle of the lower park.
